1 in 10 men may experience continence or pelvic health issues during their lifetime and like women can be helped by seeing a Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.

When should men seek help from a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist ?

It is estimated that up to 70% of men will suffer with urinary incontinence after prostate surgery and NICE recommends supervised pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation. Its useful for men to book an appointment prior to their operation to learn what to do in the first 6 weeks after surgery, however booking an appointment after the surgery will prove to be useful

Overactive Bladder Syndrome affects 16% of men and its symptoms of frequent trips to the bathroom and night time voids can affect QOL highly

Pelvic pain/chronic prostatitis is a debilitating pelvic pain condition with affects and its cause is often tightness in the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding area. All men are at risk but often men who take part in a lot of exercise are more at risk
